FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about training with Runpandit and Coach Vikas Srinivasan.
Getting Started
I've never run before. Can I join Runpandit?+
Absolutely. In fact, many of our most successful athletes were complete beginners when they joined. Coach Vikas has taken non-runners in their 50s, people who couldn't run 100 meters, and those who hadn't exercised in decades, and turned them into confident, consistent runners. The beginner programme is specifically designed for you.
What's the first step to joining?+
The first step is booking a free assessment. This is a 30-minute consultation (in-person at Agara Lake or online via video call) where Coach Vikas will understand your current fitness, running history, goals, and any injuries or health conditions. Based on this, he designs your personalised programme.
Is there a minimum fitness level required?+
No. We have athletes who started from completely sedentary lifestyles. However, if you have any medical conditions (heart issues, joint problems, etc.), please get medical clearance before starting.
What age groups do you coach?+
We coach runners from age 6 to 65+. Our youngest champion Daiwik won the Bengaluru 5K at age 8. Our oldest athletes are in their 60s running marathons. Runpandit is for everyone.
Programs & Training
Which programme is right for me?+
This is exactly what the free assessment helps determine. Can't run 5K yet? Start with our beginner programme. Run occasionally? Try 5K or 10K. Run regularly and want to race? Choose 10K, half marathon, or marathon. Coach Vikas will guide you to the right starting point.
How many days a week do I need to train?+
It depends on your programme. Beginner programmes typically run 3-4 sessions per week. 10K and half marathon programmes are 4-5 days. Marathon and ultra programmes can be 5-6 days. All programmes are adjustable to your life and schedule.
What does a typical week of training look like?+
A typical week includes: easy aerobic run, speed/interval session, strength and mobility work, tempo run, and a long run on weekends. Each session has warm-up and cool-down routines. Rest and recovery are built into the plan.
Do you provide nutrition guidance?+
Yes. Every programme includes general nutrition guidance for runners: what to eat before, during, and after runs, how to fuel for longer distances, and hydration strategy. For marathon and ultra athletes, we provide detailed race nutrition protocols.
Location & Timings
Where are the in-person sessions held?+
All in-person sessions are at 3, Agara Lake Trail, Agara Village, 1st Sector, HSR Layout, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560102. It's one of Bangalore's finest running locations: flat, scenic, and peaceful in the early mornings.
What are the session timings?+
Sessions are Monday to Saturday, 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM. Yes, 5AM is early. But it's one of the defining habits that transforms our athletes. The early morning community at Agara Lake is something special.
Can I do online coaching instead?+
Yes. Online coaching is a full programme with personalised weekly plans, video form analysis, WhatsApp daily support, monthly video calls, and race preparation. Many of our athletes, including international race finishers, train entirely online.
Fees & Commitment
How much does coaching cost?+
Fees vary by programme and duration. Please WhatsApp us or book a free assessment. Coach Vikas will explain the options after understanding your goals. We believe great coaching should be accessible.
Is there a long-term commitment required?+
No lock-in contracts. Most programmes have a recommended duration (6-20 weeks depending on distance), but you can discuss flexible arrangements with Coach Vikas.
What if I miss sessions?+
Life happens. Coach Vikas adjusts your plan around missed sessions. He doesn't just skip ahead. Makeup sessions and plan adjustments are part of the service.
Injuries & Health
I have a knee/ankle injury. Can I still join?+
Many of our athletes come to us with existing injuries. Coach Vikas will assess your injury, modify your programme to work around it, and incorporate injury-specific strengthening. However, always get medical clearance for serious injuries before starting.
Do you help prevent running injuries?+
Yes. Injury prevention is built into every programme through progressive loading, strength training, mobility work, and proper warm-up and cool-down protocols. We also address gait issues that commonly lead to injury.
Still have questions? The best way is to talk directly with Coach Vikas. No commitment, no pressure.
